Un piloto americano tuvo un problema similar, pero fué entrenado para hacer la difícil operación de quitar el piloto automático salvando así el avión y sus pasajeros
Una tragedia como esta no suele producirse por un error, sino por dos o más:
Error 1: el software del piloto automático
Error 2: no permitir quitar el piloto automático al piloto
Hubieron más errores, pues esos aviones dieron algún susto que otro avisando de lo que iba a ocurrir.
Según a trascendido, hubo una actualización del software que producía una lectura incorrecta del ángulo de ataque. Un piloto experimentado a lo mejor podría haber evitado el accidente a pesar de la lectura incorrecta
